The USDA-funded Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI) is offering grant opportunities for the agricultural G2P community. The third round of funding will prioritize cross community groups, such as animals and plants or academics, government, and/or private industry. Budgets range from $50,000 – $100,000 depending on whether the project is emerging (new), enabling (a project that has initial studies but needs support to continue and expand), or establishing (sustaining well established projects). All proposals are due by March 8th, with an anticipated start date of June 1st and a duration of 6 months to a year. Other grant opportunities include a working group grant and a general rolling grant, both with proposals due by March 31. The intention of the working group grant is to support the formation of new groups that are cross-discipline, with preference given to groups that include senior and junior professionals. This $20,000 grant is for a duration of no longer than a year. The $15,000 general rolling grant is meant to support single events such as a town hall meeting aimed at starting up working groups or efforts to support diversity within the AG2PI community.
