The Center for Sorghum Improvement (CSI) is hosting a virtual seminar given by Fadi Aramouni, Research Leader for the Grain Quality Structure Research Unit with the USDA-ARS Center for Grain and Animal Health Research in Manhattan, KS.
on Tuesday, February 13 at 11:00 AM CT. The title of his talk is “Sorghum Solutions and Swine.” The talk concerns decreasing the bitterness of sorghum strains, such as red or black sorghum, which contain high levels of phenolic compounds. These compounds confer significant health benefits, including modulating chronic inflammation and preventing cancerous cells from proliferating. Dr Aramouni will discuss the use of fermentation to improve taste and evaluating adult pig preference, hematological responses, and cognition at feeding among three types of formulated sorghum teas.
