Members of the AgBioData Consortium Research Coordination Network (www.agbiodata.org), which include members of the SorghumBase and Gramene Teams, will be holding a workshop titled, “Plant Bioinformatics Resources for FAIR Agricultural Data Discovery and Reuse,” on Saturday, June 22nd from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Meeting Room 312. The focus of the workshop is on introducing and updating plant biologists on a variety of digital bioinformatics resources, such as community databases, data repositories, online bioinformatics tools and knowledge bases that provide equitable access to structured, integrated data and analytic tools. These resources enable researchers to more quickly generate hypotheses, design experiments and analyze data. Presentations from the AgBioData RCN and member digital resources, on community needs, challenges, and database support for Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) data compliance will be featured.
Talks and presentations include:
- The AgBioData journey towards best practices of data sharing and management in agricultural research and education. – Annarita Marrano, Phoenix Bioinformatics,CA
- Bio-Analytic Resource for Plant Biology – Asher Pasha, University of Toranto, Canada
- The Arabidopsis Information Resources in 2024: The Makeover Edition – Leonore Reiser, Phoenix Bioinformatics,CA
- Breedbase, a digital ecosystem for Plant Breeding and Biology – Lukas Muller, Cornell University
- Gramene Plants And Pan Genome Resources for Plant Communities – Sunita Kumari, Cold Spring Harbor Lab, NY
- SorghumBase 2024: Building Partnerships and Integrating Genetic Knowledge for the Sorghum Community – Sharon Wei, Cold Spring Harbor Lab, NY
- Plant Reactome: Leveraging Neo4j Knowledge Graphs for Pathway Integration, Visualization, Analysis, and Discovery – Sushma Naithani, Oregon State University
- Research Impact of Plant Community Databases – Dorrie Main, Washington State University
The workshop speakers will also be available at the AgBioData booth #406 during the conference if you have any questions related to AgBiodata Resources.
Members of the teams will also be presenting the following posters during the poster session on Sunday, June 23; Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 25 from 11:45 to 1:15:
