The Devos Lab at the University of Georgia is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on the functional validation of candidate genes for select traits in economically important grasses, including the salt tolerant species seashore paspalum and the bioenergy crop switchgrass. The work will involve generating and/or using next-generation sequencing (NGS) data to identify genes underlying quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for traits of interest and using genetic transformation, potentially in heterologous systems, to functionally validate the gene candidates.

The position is full-time and offers health and retirement benefits. Salary will be commensurate with appropriate experience. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis until a candidate is selected.

The following documents are required to apply:

  • a cover letter summarizing research interests
  • a Curriculum Vitae
  • the names and contact information for at least three people who can provide recommendations

Applications, sent as a single file, should be submitted to Katrien M. Devos.

For more information, including requirements, see flier.
